The Salvation Army in Clarksburg relies on its annual Red Kettle Campaign and said it is $11,000 short so far this year.
It said part of the problem is not having enough bell ringers.
"We have many unmanned locations at many times and therefore that puts at a deficit in the funds that have been raised," said Howard Hoffman, of Salvation Army.
