
The Morgantown Police Department has arrested two people in connection with a stabbing that occurred on November 30.
Troy Francis Willet, 21, and Joseph Patrick Burel, 22, were arrested and charged with attempted murder in the first degree, malicious wounding, and conspiracy.
On November 30, the police department responded to a stabbing that occurred on High Street at approximately 3:15 a.m.
The stabbing victim, Juan Guerra, Jr, 20, was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police said Guerra underwent surgery for his injuries and was later released.
Morgantown Police Department detectives investigated the case and were able to identify two individuals who were involved in the incident.
On Friday, the police department, along with the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, arrested Willet and Burel and charged them both with attempted murder in the first degree, malicious wounding, and conspiracy.
Police said the case is still under investigation and ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call the Morgantown Police Department Detective Unit at 304-284-7522.
