Monongalia County Superintendent Frank Devono said his thoughts and prayers go out to the children, families, and loved one of those associated with Friday's incident.

Two weeks ago, Morgantown High School endured a potential shooting threat.

Devono said emergency response and safety protocols are always being examined to keep students safe.

"When we have a tragic disaster, the way this is, you want to be able to go back and make sure everyone looks at the emergency and protocols we have in place, but it should be something we do obviously on a continual basis, and we do try to do that," Devono said.
