MOUNT CLARE -

The Mount Clare Fire Department held its annual Santa Run Food Drive on Sunday.

Don't worry, Santa didn't actually run. We wouldn't want him to risk getting hurt before the big day.

The fire department has been holding this food drive for more than 13 years.

Two fire trucks and Santa Claus went around the department's first due area collecting non perishable food items from residents.

The food items will be delivered to area food pantries.

Firefighters said it's important to help the community during this time of year.

The fire department also handed out candy and little red fire hats to children.

The department collected about 300 pounds of non perishable food.
