UNION, WV (AP) — A former Alderson employee will spend at least a year in prison for embezzling money from the town.
UNION, WV (AP) — A former Alderson employee will spend at least a year in prison for embezzling money from the town.
Kanawha County magistrates will be sworn into office for their new four-year terms in a 1 p.m. Dec. 21 ceremony, the West Virginia Supreme Court recently announced.
All 10 magistrates were elected Nov. 6, and their new terms begin Jan. 1. The ceremony will take place in Kanawha County Circuit Judge Louis H. "Duke" Bloom's courtroom, and Bloom will administer the oath of office.
The magistrates are Democrats Kim Aaron, Tim Halloran, Ward Harshbarger, Pete Lopez, Jack Pauley, Joe Shelton, Traci Carper-Strickland, and Julie Yeager, all of whom were re-elected, and newly elected magistrates Brent Hall, a Democrat, and Republican Michael Sisson.
Incumbent Paris Workman lost in general election. Incumbent Kristen Vieweg did not seek election.
