The Senate District 1 Committee of the West Virginia Democrats Met Dec. 20 and named three possible replacements for the Senate seat vacated by Orphy Klempa.

Klempa recently was sworn in as an Ohio County commissioner after winning that office in the November General Election.

Rocky Fitzsimmons is an attorney at the Fitzsimmons Law Firm in Wheeling and is the co-chairman of the Ohio County Democratic Party.

David Palmer is known in the community as a former Wheeling Fire Department lieutenant.

Sam Love of Weirton is a former lawmaker, spending 1983-1996 in the House of Delegates. He is a lobbyist for the West Virginia State Fireman's Association and owns A-1 Bail Bonding.

The three names will be submitted to Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, who will select one to take Klempa's Senate seat. His four-year term ends in 2014.
