FAIRMONT -

Marion County Parks and Recreation is offering a way to get your Christmas tree out of your home once the holidays are over.

MCPARC has partnered up with Mt. Zion Nursery in Fairmont to add a little something extra to your holiday tradition

The program has delivered dozens of Christmas trees to homes all around Marion County, and now it's offering to pick them up.

Workers will then replant your Christmas tree in one of 11 Marion County parks.

"It's an alternate way to do a Christmas tree," said Tony Michalski of MCPARC. "Instead of cutting it and putting it out on the corner afterward, your Christmas tree can live on. People can come out and look at it, we will tag it for them so they know which ones there's."

If you would like more information on MCPARC's Christmas tree program, you can visit the MCPARC website.
