Judge Jamie Wilfong has issued a ruling in a competency hearing for a Randolph County man charged with first degree murder.
Wilfong has ruled that Theodore Newlon, 82, is not competent to stand trial.
The authorities said Newlon murdered his wife Dora Newlon last February.
Wilfong ordered additional evaluations to determine whether Newlon will regain competency.
The next hearing will be in February.
