Some local kids got to experience their first time at the ice arena today.
The Morgantown Ice Arena kicked off its annual "Totsickles" program to teach kids how to skate.
Children of all ages can head to the ice arena every Friday to skate, play with toys, or just walk around on the ice.
BOPARC holds this class to help kids get used to the ice before they come to the free skate.
They also have games and crafts for the kids.
"They get a lot out of the program. It's an hour long program that runs from 10 to 11. They spend forty five minutes on the ice where they have some play toys and there's sleds out there, and they can play hockey and they can try to skates or they can go out in their boots. And afterwards they come in, we bring them off the ice about quarter 'til and we give them their hot chocolate," said Renee Taylor, of BOPARC.
The program will be held every Friday until March.
