SNOWSHOE (AP) — It's shaping up to be a white Christmas in parts of West Virginia and Snowshoe Mountain is getting a welcome blast of that winter weather.

The resort said Saturday it has received a foot of snow in the last 24 hours and the resort now has 15 inches of snow for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy.

Winds that were gusting to 50 mph are also slowing, according to the resort.

The resort said it plans to open new terrain over the next few days.
