CLARKSBURG -

The Hogs and Heroes Foundation WV-2 gathered Saturday afternoon at the Alta Vista Children's Shelter in Clarksburg.

The members of the foundation collected donations and then distributed Christmas gifts to the children in the shelter.

The children in the shelter don't have any where else to go and sometimes don't have anyone else to buy them gifts.

The foundation gathered enough money to spend $150 on each of the ten children in the shelter.

"We took donations from various organizations, the general public, various churches and we put it into a fund and started buying presents and wrapping gifts. This is just something we really enjoy doing" said John Weaver, the Chaplin for Hogs for Heroes.

Weaver said that Hogs for Heroes is active almost every weekend.

"When you get down to it, the biker community is one of the most generous groups of people in the world. We ride for everything. There's not a weekend that goes by that we're not out doing something for somebody" Weaver said.

Hogs and Heroes is hoping that its work this year with the center will encourage other Hogs and Hero chapters to help out with this cause in the future.
