FAIRMONT -

You may have noticed while driving from house to house on Christmas Day, that you didn't have to wait until Wednesday to get that Big Mac or chocolate shake.

That's because some McDonald's restaurants decided to remain open.

McDonald's said one reason behind the improvement of its November sales, was that 6,000 more restaurants were open on Thanksgiving Day.

The restaurant has asked its franchisees to keep their doors open this Christmas because of the positive numbers.

Every McDonald's that stayed open last year averaged $5,500 in sales.
