BRIDGEPORT -

Most stores in the mall have permanent locations, but there are some that only have a booth set up during the holiday season.

Some of these stores in the Meadowbrook Mall include Personalized Ornaments, Thunder Paws, and Hickory Farms. An employee of Hickory Farms said that it had a great turnout this year.

"Our company has each day a certain goal and on Black Friday our goal was about $5,500, and this past weekend each day has been about $8,000. We've exceeded those goals these last couple of days. That can just tell you that people are in the last minute rush compared to pre-planning, Black Friday, or around that time" said Lindsay Bailey, Hickory Farms employee.

Bailey said that the holiday season started out slow for Hickory Farms. She said people were buying small gifts at the beginning, but as the season has progressed they began purchasing much larger items.

Bailey explained that the weekend of December 21 through the December 23 was especially busy, with the December 23 being its busiest day of the season.
