The West Union detachment of the West Virginia State Police has arrested a Parkersburg man on a sex crimes charge.

Trooper J.R. Barker arrested Jerrel Jones, 19, and charged him with six counts of imposition of sexual acts on a person incarcerated or under supervision, according to a news release from the W.Va. State Police.

The arrest is the result of an investigation of Jones as a former correctional officer at the North Central Regional Jail and his sexual involvement with a female inmate while he was employed at the jail.

Jones was arraigned in Doddridge County Magistrate Court and is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $120,000.
