West Virginia State Police on Patrol for New Year's Eve

Posted: Updated:

New Year's Eve is known for its celebrations, and there will be plenty happening in North Central West Virginia.

The West Virginia State Police is responding by putting out extra patrols.

In addition to regular DUI patrols, extra troopers will be out to look for drunk drivers.

"Tonight if you are going to go out and drink make sure you are going to have a designated driver. Don't get behind the wheel if you've had anything to drink. Buzzed driving is impaired driving. Just be safe and have a fun holiday," said Sgt. James Branham with the West Virginia State Police.

Branham advises using a designated driver to be sure you are safe.
