The Ronald McDonald House rang in the new year to help to help raise money for their new family room Monday evening.

The family room project is an addition to Ruby Memorial Hospital. Miss West Virginia Teen USA even came out to support the cause.

"I'm actually here selling raffle tickets and greeting people. Letting everyone know that this is a charity event for the Ronald McDonald house and raising money. It's just a good way to spend your New Years. You get to give and I'm here doing the same thing," said Miss W.Va. Teen U.S.A. Haley Holloway.

Holloway said its important to donate time to a good cause like the Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House and the Waterfront Place Hotel charged party-goers for the New Year's Eve celebration and raised roughly $1,500 for the new family room that's in the works for Ruby Memorial Hospital.
