A new year means resolutions for many people. One of the most common New Year's resolutions is to get in shape or lose weight.
Staff at Planet Fitness said they haven't seen many new memberships yet, but they expect the rush to start soon.
"We only had one membership come here today. But we did have several people call and ask about memberships. I'm sure we'll have a lot more tomorrow because it's New Year's resolutions, people want to start working out and start the New Year off right" said Corbin Kennedy, staff at Planet Fitness.
Kennedy said that once people recover from their New Year's celebrations they are more likely to join the gym.
