A Marion County judge has sentenced a man accused of being involves in a deadly bar fight.

Judge David Janes sentenced Daniel Sowers, 28, to 12 months in jail for a battery charge and one year for an involuntary manslaughter charge. Judge Janes ordered that those sentences run consecutively.

Sowers entered a plea in October to battery and involuntary manslaughter for the death of Josh Oldaker, according to the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney's office.

Josh Oldaker's family members spoke in court, as well as the defendant and his family members.
