An electrical fire destroyed a home in Harrison County Tuesday night. The Harrison County 911 Center said it started just after 12:15 a.m. on Locust Street in Salem. It said the fire appears to be suspicious.

Doddridge County High School has received a three-year, $50,000 Innovation Zone Grant, allowing students with similar interests to spend a few hours every month getting real world experience.

The group "Create Buckhannon" is ready to take the next steps in bringing a historic home back to life.
The Latham House was built before the Civil War and now needs work on the foundation, flooring, and siding.
The renovation project was kick started by a $5,000 Brownfields Focus grant last year and now "Create Buckhannon" is looking for more funding to continue the work.
It applied for a $250,000 grant and is now waiting for a response.
