Fairmont Man Appears in Marion County Court on Sexual Abuse Charges

A Fairmont man charged with two counts of sexual abuse appeared in Marion County court Friday.

Fairmont Police said Charles Andrews, 65, sexually assaulted two girls in 1985.

The victims were 7 years old and 9 years old at the time.

A Marion County Judge ordered that Andrews undergo a sexual offender evaluation and a 60-day diagnostic to check on his mental health before being sentenced.

The sentencing will be rescheduled after the evaluations are completed.

Andrews faces 10 to 20 years in prison on each charge.

He also faces sexual abuse charges in Taylor County.
