The Planetarium at West Virginia Wesleyan has announced the January and February Sky Shows, which are the first and third Saturdays of each month at 8 p.m. and last approximately one hour.

On Jan. 5, Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon, an IMAX film, will feature the journey to the lunar surface and walk in the footsteps of the brave few to see, hear, and feel the Moon as they did.

"The Magic School Bus: Gets Lost in Space:" will be the feature showing on Jan. 19. In this episode of the award-winning TV show, Arnold's know-it-all cousin Janet drives the whole class crazy when she joins them on a field trap and they get lost in space.

"Attack of the Sun" will be shown on Feb. 2. In this video, watch as an angry Sun, 93 million miles away, takes aim at our high-tech society.

On Feb. 16, is the viewing of Life in the Cosmos. While some scientists scan the skies for signs of intelligent life, others investigate the possible composition of alien life-forms – and how we might communicate with them.

The Planetarium Sky Shows are on the second floor of Christopher Hall on Wesleyan's campus. No reservations are required, but seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Telescope observing follows each show. Each show includes a tour of the evening sky, and free sky charts are available.

Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students and seniors. When accompanied by an adult, children younger than 18 are admitted at no charge. For information, visit www.wvwc.edu/planetarium.
