Glen Elk -

The Clarksburg Police Department said a man in his 50s was taken to the United Hospital Center on Saturday evening after falling into the Elk Creek.

Officials said it happened near the Glen Elk Bridge in Harrison County around 4:00 p.m.

The man fell into 3 1/2 feet of water and was heavily intoxicated.

The injuries appeared non-life threatening. 

A portion of Route 50 Westbound was closed during the rescue.
