The West Virginia University Medical Class of 2014 has reason to celebrate. The entire third year class passed "the boards."
Monday, the class celebrated after each student passed 322 multiple-choice United States Medical Licensing Examination on their first try.
The test is step one of three for a student to become a doctor.
The university said only about 10 percent fail each year but having a perfect class is rare.
"I've never seen this before although we've always beaten the 10 percent, we have never hit the 100 percent first time pass rate," said Norman Ferrari, of WVU School of Medicine.
"To pass the test means our first two years, the dedication; the commitment has really paid off for us and all the work people put forth. It's a very stressful time period in the life of a medical student, but it's a big time period, it's the transition from classroom to being a doctor. It's a big step for all of us," said Masih Ahmed, student president.
Students must also pass a second exam and clinicals to graduate.
