An electrical fire destroyed a home in Harrison County Tuesday night. The Harrison County 911 Center said it started just after 12:15 a.m. on Locust Street in Salem. It said the fire appears to be suspicious.

Remember the Miners, a West Virginia campaign dedicated to honoring fallen coal miners and the sacrifices miners make for U.S. energy, is kicking off the Coal Club.
Arch Coal announced that Russ Lorince will join Arch Coal as vice president of external affairs for the eastern division, based in Morgantown.
Lorince's duties will include dealing with state government affairs, community relations and regional communications.
"We are very pleased to have Russ join the Arch team," said Deck S. Slone, senior vice president of strategy and public policy. "With his strong ties to West Virginia and the region, his extensive energy background, and his exceptional communications skills, Russ will be a great asset and a great company representative. We look forward to working closely with Russ in ways that benefit all of our stakeholders throughout the region."
Lorince has served as director of economic development at West Virginia University and Allegheny Energy. He is currently chairman of TechConnect WV and serves on the board of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Vision Shared, the Monongalia County Development Authority, the Morgantown Area Economic Partnership and Mylan Park.
He has also bee president of the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association and the West Virginia Economic Development Council.
