The Lewis County Board of Health has delayed a scheduled vote on an expansion of the county's smoking ban.
The proposed amendment would prohibit smoking in any business and in all public and private places of employment.
It also would ban outdoor smoking in all public places, including parks and playgrounds.
The proposal does not affect many business that already operate under current smoking laws, but some said banning smoking in outdoor places goes too far.
