Harrison County Task Force Holds Its First Meeting

The first meeting of the reconfigured Harrison County drug unit was held Tuesday.

The Greater Harrison County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, named by its seven-member Board of Directors, commenced in Bridgeport, according to a press release from United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II.

In addition to Ihlenfeld, board members in attendance were Bridgeport Police Chief John Walker; Clarksburg Police Chief Marshall Goff; Drug Enforcement Administration Group Supervisor Albert J. Galietti; West Virginia State Police-Bureau of Criminal Investigations Captain Tim Bledsoe; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Resident Agent in Charge Dewayne Haddix; and United States Marshal Gary M. Gaskins.

The Board met for more than three hours and voted unanimously to appoint Chief John Walker as its Chairperson, according to the press release. The Board also appointed a Task Force Commander and, in the future, will appoint an Assistant Task Force Commander.

Discussions by the Board included future expansion of the Task Force and goals for 2013.

The Board plans to provide more information about these goals in the upcoming weeks. It will meet again in February.
