It may not seem like changing one word in a school's name is a big deal, but there's a lot that still needs to be done for Alderson-Broaddus College to change its name to Alderson Broaddus University.

The Marion County Commission said the New Year is a great time to set new goals and make some changes.
At its Wednesday meeting Randy Elliott was elected as President of the Commission and Butch Tennant was elected first chair.
Ernie Van Gilder has replaced Guy Ward as the third Marion County Commissioner.
Tennant said 2012 was a very successful year for the commission and it has lots of plans for 2013.
"We've got some big things going on with the new state building coming on the 100 block here," Tennant said. "We have some other things we are working on in the budget and keeping our employees paid. We've been very well, we owe no money. We're in good shape financially."
Tennant said the Marion County Commission is one of very few counties that are financially strong.
