The Department of Homeland Security has given the Salem Police Department a sub-grant in the amount of $25,000.

The Fairmont Police Department has arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery near Rose Avenue Thursday night.

Reginald Standard, 19, of Fairmont is accused of taking a backpack that contained personal items, including a tablet, cell phone, and clothes, according to Fairmont Police Chief Kelley Moran.

Standard is in North Central Regional Jail awaiting arraignment.
