Working off the extra pounds is more difficult when the nearest gym is more than 10 miles away.

Three Preston County residents are trying to change that for their community.

A new gym, "3 Guys Fitness", will be built across Route 7 from Luigi's Sports Center in Reedsville.

The owners said the gym with be the first 24-hour fitness center in Preston County.

They said the gym will benefit many in the area who want to work out, but don't want to drive more than 20-miles round-trip to Morgantown.

"Most people work 40 plus hours a week and you come home, you just don't feel like driving an hour, and having the drive time," said Jared Hovatter, of 3 Guys Fitness. "This will make it a lot easier when you can stop on your way home or it's a short quick drive. It's going to make it easier on everybody and I think more people will be involved. "

The 10,000 square-foot facility is expected to be open this summer.
