The Lewis County Commission is making sure the county stays in the black for the rest of the year.
County commissioners sat down with county officials Monday afternoon to go over the budget at the halfway point of their year.
County administrator Cindy Whetsell said government accounting can be slightly different than private business and she wants to be sure everyone, especially newly elected officials, understands where the county stands.
The state requires the commission to conduct a similar review every year.
