CHARLESTON (AP) — U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin is touring the state this week to discuss school safety, government spending, hiring unemployed veterans and other issues.
Manchin's office says the tour kicks off Tuesday afternoon with a roundtable discussion on fiscal issues at the W. Kent Carper Justice and Public Safety Complex in Charleston.
The West Virginia Democrat says the federal government is doing too much spending and not enough investing in the future.
On Wednesday afternoon, Manchin will hold a roundtable discussion on school safety at Robert C. Byrd High School in Clarksburg.
Another roundtable discussion will be held Friday afternoon at Concord University. Manchin also plans to visit Marsh Fork Elementary School in Rock Creek on Friday morning.
