Child Advocacy Center Introduces New 'One With Courage' Campaign

Posted: Updated:

The Harrison County Child Advocacy Center said 70 percent of sexual assault cases happen to a child.

A new statewide campaign is working to bring those numbers down.

The "One with Courage" campaign highlights the courage it takes for child victims to talk about their abuse.

It also encourages adults to identify those situations.

The Child Advocacy Center introduced the new campaign Tuesday.

"Help the public know how prevalent it is," said Catherine Munster, of the Child Advocacy Center. "How important it is that we believe children. When they tell us they are being troubled by inappropriate touches or are uncomfortable in the presence of a trusted adult."
