FARMINGTON -
The Marion County Board of Education met with the public Tuesday evening to hear comments about renovations and possible new building projects.
The public asked questions and voiced their concerns about the current state of school in northern Marion County.
The public seemed to want the School Building Authority (SBA) of West Virginia to finance projects at different schools in the area.
Dr. Mark Manchin, Executive Director of the SBA, was in attendance to answer questions and offer advice for how all the schools in need could benefit and receive funding.
"We came here tonight with community members to discuss, listen, make recommendations, and see if we could reach some common ground. Because I don't think anyone would disagree that the needs of the North Marion attendance area are becoming critical. Hopefully this will be the first of future meetings," said Manchin.
One piece of advice he offered the Board of Education was to put together a school bond for the public to vote on. That would help with paying for renovations or new buildings.
