The airport's goal was to show its master plan, and the improvements to be made over the next 20 years.
The improvements include safety and increased efficiency at the airport. Project Manager Richard Osborne said that the master plan is a project that is required for all airports that receive grant funding.

Osborne also said that growth at the airport could mean more jobs becoming available for the Upshur County area.
