A former Monongalia County mayor has died.
According to his obituary, Former Westover Mayor Tom Chaplin passed away Tuesday, at the age of 64, at Mon General Hospital.
Chaplin served as Westover's Mayor from 1978 to 1988. He is survived by his sons Kay and Zachariah.
Chaplin attended WVU for his bachelor's degree. In 1994 he ran for Westover's mayor but was unsuccessful.
