A Lewis County church is trying to keep its community well-fed.

The New Life Southern Baptist Church held a food giveaway Friday morning.

The church collects food throughout the year and holds a similar monthly giveaway to help those who most need it.

Organizers said many residents need the help they provide.

"Their income is very very low, some of then have no income, and some are just getting along mostly on food stamps," said church volunteer Glenna Townsend.

Call the New Life Southern Baptist Church at 304-269-6446 for more information on the giveaways, or to donate.
