An electrical fire destroyed a home in Harrison County Tuesday night. The Harrison County 911 Center said it started just after 12:15 a.m. on Locust Street in Salem. It said the fire appears to be suspicious.

HUNTINGTON, WV – The Joint Commission, in
conjunction with The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association,
recently recertified Cabell Huntington Hospital with Advanced Certification as
a Primary Stroke Center.
Achievement of Primary Stroke Center Certification shows the
hospital's dedication to fostering better outcomes for patients. Cabell
Huntington Hospital first received Advanced Certification as a Primary Stroke
Center by the Joint Commission in 2011. Cabell Huntington Hospital's
Primary Stroke Center Certification has demonstrated that the program meets
critical elements of performance to achieve long-term success in improving
outcomes for stroke patients.
The Cabell Huntington Hospital Advanced Primary Stroke
Center underwent a rigorous on-site review in December. During that visit, a
Joint Commission expert reviewed the hospital's compliance with the
requirements for The Joint Commission's Disease-Specific Care
Certification program as well as primary stroke center requirements, such as
collecting Joint Commission core measure data and using it for performance
improvement activities.
Developed in collaboration with the American Stroke
Association and launched in 2003, The Joint Commission's Primary Stroke Center
Certification program is based on the Brain Attack Coalition's
"Recommendations for the Establishment of Primary Stroke Centers."
Certification is available only to stroke programs in Joint Commission-accredited
acute care hospitals.
Cabell
Huntington Hospital is a 303-bed academic medical center located in Huntington,
West Virginia. Cabell Huntington cares for patients from more than 29 counties
throughout West Virginia, eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio. Opened in 1956,
it is a teaching hospital and is affiliated with Marshall University Schools of
Medicine and Nursing.
