The Marion County Sheriff's Department arrested a lawyer after an incident in the courthouse Tuesday afternoon.
Stephen Sean Murphy, 45 of Morgantown, was arrested and charged with malicious assault after he attacked fellow lawyer Scott Radman in the Marion County courthouse between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The sheriff's department said Murphy caused bodily harm to Radman by beating him on the head and face, causing injuries.
Based on witness interviews, the sheriff's department said Radman appeared to lay helpless while Murphy continued to beat him on the head.
Radman was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to the sheriff's department.
Murphy is free on $10,000 bond.
