On June 15, Grafton police initiated a sexual assault investigation after receiving a complaint about two female juveniles who were forcibly restrained and held against their will at the Crislip Motor Lodge in Grafton.

Shinnston Police Department's chief of police was relieved of his position Wednesday, according to Shinnston city manager Debra Herndon.
Michael Secreto, chief of police for the Shinnston Police Department, was placed on suspension January 17, after information was received by city of Shinnston Administration on January 16, according to Herndon.
City council was informed of the situation in an emergency meeting Tuesday afternoon and Secreto was relieved of his duties Wednesday.
Secreto's termination is effective immediately, according to Herndon.
No further information in regards to Secreto's termination or the information received is being released at this time, Herndon said.
Secreto has been an officer with the department since 1993 and chief since 2001.
Lieutenant Jason Carlson has been named acting chief of police for an undetermined period.
