Several counties in West Virginia have already started celebrating the state's sesquicentennial. Marion County has a very rich history and now its residents are ready to celebrate how far it has come.

The Monongalia County Commission met Wednesday for its regular meeting.
It announced plans for a public hearing, on the proposed "Comprehensive Plan for the Four Planning Districts of Monongalia County."
County Commissioner Bill Bartolo explained what the plan includes.
"They talk about transportation, they talk about land use and development, things on how a community is going to develop, what type of development, controlled development. One of the things we know in Monongalia County, West Run is probably a classic example of what happens when you have uncontrolled development," said Bartolo.
The public hearing will be Wednesday, February 6 at 3:30 p.m.
