Another local post office will cut back its hours as part of the U.S. Postal Service's plan to cut costs.

The POST Plan is a review process of more than 15,000 post offices nationwide. Approximately 50 local post offices are among those affected, including the Granville Post Office.

More than 30 Granville residents asked questions and expressed concerns Wednesday evening at a community meeting held at the fire department.

Ultimately, they were happy that the USPS was realigning hours at the post office instead of closing it altogether.

Manager of Post Office Operations Paul Portillo said he is happy to use public opinion to find a solution that is mutually beneficial.

"Absolutely, it's big. As a matter of fact, the community meetings I've done, that's been the general consensus. 'We're just happy to have our post office still in our community.' So it's a win-win for the for the post office and the communities," said Portillo

USPS said the POST Plan will save it more than half a billion dollars.

Proposed hours for the Granville Post Office are 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; and 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays.
