The Harrison County Sheriff's Department has arrested a private investigator and attorney representing a former Shinnston police officer. It arrested Wheeling attorney Paul Harris, and Barbour County
The Preston County Animal Shelter is in need of help after a broken furnace left the shelter without water for two days, according to shelter manager Courtney Austin.
Austin said the furnace broke earlier this week. Recent cold weather has caused the shelter's pipes to freeze, leaving it without water.
Austin said the shelter is expecting an influx of animals Thursday, and is asking for the community's help.
Community members who are willing to temporarily foster animals, help transport animals to other shelters in the area, or are willing to help raise money for a new furnace are asked to contact Austin at 304-329-3461 or email her at pcanimalshelter@gmail.com.
Austin said she will be busy managing the intake of new animals and getting the shelter back in operation, but that she will reply to emails and phone calls as soon as she can.
