Republican officials from West Virginia voted Jan. 25 to re-elect former Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus as chairman of the Republican National Committee.

West Virginia Republican Chairman Conrad Lucas said Priebus is the right man to create wins for the RNC in 2014.

"Chairman Priebus has been a steady hand nationally, making sure our party has the resources to find the right candidates and get them elected up and down the ballot," Lucas said in a news release. "Our party in West Virginia is energized by the chance we have to make changes in our Congressional delegation next year."

Lucas said the state party has the goal of making four of the state's five members of Congress "true conservatives by the end of 2014."

Lucas attended the RNC meetings this week along with WVGOP National Committee representatives Kris Warner and Melody Potter.
