The 34th annual Toughman Contest kicked off Friday night at the Nathan Goff Armory in Clarksburg.
Crowds of people packed the Armory in anticipation to cheer on the fighters. Men and women from all over the state competed to find out who was the toughest fighter.
Randy Elliott of Marion County said he came out to support his county fighters in the Toughman Contest. He also said this event is one of the largest ones in Clarksburg.
"I've always been interested in the Toughman Contest. There's a lot of competition. There's a couple local guys from the Marion County community I live in, Mannington. I came up to see how they would do," said Elliott.
Elliott said the event had a great turnout and coming out to watch the competition was a great way to spend his Friday night.
