Global Feature Dinner Series Begins at the Richwood Grill

The Richwood Grill in Morgantown cooks with local ingredients all year round.

Saturday it got the chance to change things up by still using those local ingredients, but with a global twist.

Friday kicked off the restaurant's Global Feature Dinner Series.

The 7th Annual Nuevo Latino Rum and Heirloom Chocolate Dinner featured menu items that used chocolate as a savory ingredient.

"We have a chocolate Portobello soup with truffle oil, we have a chocolate barbeque sauce going with local pork or local chicken, tofu options for vegetarians, and we have a cherry chipotle chocolate cheesecake, that's a lot of fun. It's got a little smoky heat to it in the end," said Marion Ohlinger, Co Owner and Executive Chef of the Richwood Grill.

Customers said they enjoy the series that brings global cuisine to West Virginia.

"I think I've had almost all of them. The beer dinners are really, really good. I think this is great and I just really enjoy that he supports local business and local farmers," said Haley Slagle, a regular customer of the Richwood Grill.

The next addition in the series will be the 7th Annual St. Valentine's Aphrodisiac Dinner on February 13th through the 16th.
