WellWVU is trying to make sure students are eating healthy this month.

The group held a Freggie Day Tuesday, encouraging students to eat more fruits and vegetables.

WellWVU educated students on the benefits of fruits and vegetables, even showing them which are in season now.

It said it's important to help students learn how to care for their bodies as they transition to life one their own.

"Just teaching them now that they're in college, being able to be on their own, how to take responsibility for their bodies and make their own choices, and making those healthy choices and responsible choices," said student health educator Jordan McCann.

WellWVU offered free fruit, and even made smoothies for students.

Each month the group promotes a different healthy lifestyle option.
