The Marion County Sheriff's Department arrested a Fairmont man on drug charges on January 15.
Travis S. Abels, 25, was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.
The Marion County Sheriff's Department said that for several weeks they had received information that Abels was selling marijuana.
A confidential informant then went to Abels' residence with recorded buy money and bought "green vegetation" from Abels. The "green vegetation" was then field tested and tested positive for marijuana, according to the sheriff's department.
The sheriff's department obtained a search warrant and searched Abels' residence, where deputies recovered U.S. currency, some of which was money given to the confidential informant. Deputies also recovered digital scales, packaging materials, and approximately one ounce of marijuana.
According to the sheriff's department, Abels also admitted to selling marijuana after he was arrested.
