MORGANTOWN -

Melissa Oliverio was appointed a long-term care specialist for Northwestern Mutual's northern West Virginia territory.

In the role, she will be responsible for ensuring the long-term care needs of clients are addressed as part of their overall financial security plans.

A native of Bluefield, Oliverio earned a bachelor of arts degree from Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C., and, in 1994, a law degree from West Virginia University. 

Oliverio comes to Northwestern Mutual from Steptoe & Johnson.

The Morgantown resident is an active member of the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance, North Central West Virginia Estate Planning Council, Monongalia General Hospital Auxiliary Board, and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and its Million Dollar Round Table.
