The Erickson Alumni Center at West Virginia University will also host an event for National Wear Red Day called "Women, Love Your Heart" on Friday.

Women there will enjoy a heart healthy lunch and learn how cardiovascular disease affects them differently than men.

Then on Saturday, the WVU Heart Institute will offer free health screenings for women from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Education sessions addressing nutrition, resource counseling, personal pharmacy consultations, and oral health and exercise will also be held.

Those in attendance should bring a list of their medications and supplements. Blood tests will be limited to the first 300 participants.
