MORGANTOWN -

West Virginia Green Works is holding its Building Conference Expo this weekend in Morgantown.

WV Green Works is a non-profit community redevelopment resource. It helps building owners and community leaders connect to green, sustainable training and resources.

The company kicked things off with keynote speakers on Thursday.

"The Building Conference is unique, first and foremost that it's in West Virginia and I know this doesn't happen here very often," said Matthew Miller, an architect from Wheeling. "As a native West Virginian, I was super excited to come to this event here and just tell my story about design, about architecture, about students, and education and teaching."

Miller works with public high school students in Berkeley, California and teaches them design. He then uses the designs the students make to help them construct what they've created.

Miller wants to help students develop skill sets of creativity and critical thinking.
